Congratulations to Dean and Helen Camilleri, the lucky winners of our ‘Transform my Tourer’ Competition. Their 2002 GU Wagon was built up live on stage at the National 4x4 Show in Melbourne. Dean and Helen have been 4WDing for a few years now and the transformation of their Patrol from a stock truck, to a kitted out Tourer, means they can now go even further!

They have been planning to take their young family out to see parts of Australia most young kids wouldn’t have seen, and now they can do those trips knowing that their vehicle has everything it could need. It’s been a long time plan for them to deck out their Patrol, and winning the Transform my Tourer competition is certainly a dream come true. We don’t think that anyone could wipe the smiles off their faces at the National 4x4 Show, and we suspect they will be smiling every time they look at their GU, or every time they see something new and exciting on their travels.

We couldn’t be happier to present their ‘new’ truck to them, knowing that it was going to people that will really benefit from the prize. So again Dean and Helen, from the team here at Australian 4WD Monthly, and all the companies that provided their time and products, congratulations! We look forward to catching up with you soon and sharing a yarn by the campfire, somewhere out there in this wonderful country.

Throughout the show, our webcam was running, which beamed the build-up around the world, providing great coverage to those that weren’t able to make it to the show, and excellent advertising for all the companies involved in the build-up. 4WDTV were also on-hand, filming the build-up to feature on their nation-wide TV show.

A full story on the build-up of the vehicle will be coming in a future issue, so keep your eyes peeled for it in Australian 4WD Monthly!

Modifications to the vehicle were donated and fitted by some of Australia’s market leading 4WD and vehicle accessory companies. A big thanks to everyone involved, this fantastic prize could not have gone ahead without your help.
