Been a while since I posted here so a quick update, camper has been registered for a couple of months now and the kitchen area is pretty much done along with the cabin area. It goes for it's first test run on the 26th of September so I plan to have it finished by then Anyway, the pics.

Kitchen under the rear hatch, stripped down for the spar urethane. Draws are on full extension 45Kg slides, 100AH AGM battery is also on a slide with the electrical panel mounted on the front also with a regulator for the solar panel.

Storage area at the foot end of the QS bed

And at the head end, although things have moved on a little since these

I hope to have it finished over the next two weeks

Cheers
Steve

It was weighed at 430Kg without the kitchen draws or upper shelf or the battery.

I'd expect it to be around 550Kg at the most which leaves 200Kg worth of clothes and food etc which is pretty unlikely. Although I'll probably put brakes on it later anyway. Fridge goes in the Jeep.

Cheers

2 coats of satin spar urethane (boat stuff) have gone on with another 2 to go (24 hours between each coat so it takes a while). Doing the ceiling is a killer.

Looks good though, no tint in this just clear. The light coloured cubby holes are getting carpeted.

Cheers

Steve, would you mind giving us a rundown on how you have sealed the door opening.

The internal wall has a 4mm thick piece of hardwood all the way around it as a spacer. On top of this is the 8mm thick door jamb which extends into the door opening. The door then has (or will when I finish putting the polly on) a rubber seal that covers a range of 6mm to 3mm, the 4mm spacer lets this compress and seal the door opening. The door jamb was coated with epoxy and then has 4 coats of the spar urethane on it to make sure any water that gets in there doesn't get into the wood.

Hope that explains it well enough.

Cheers

Thanks Steve, yeah I was wondering where the rubber would go. It's looking great, brilliant attention to detail there.

Wiring all done, LCD and stereo in for the last time now. Also carpeted the foot end storage space, need to carpet the inner guards and the head end cubby holes but I had to put the mattress in. It worked out perfect, I laid down vinyl first and used that as a template to cut the mattress around the guards. It's nice and tall so sitting in the door way is comfy with the door jamb not digging in to my legs. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It was great to finish doing the urethane on the interior

Cheers

Took some pics outside again finally, thought a bit of sun and wind would help air it out Just need to get the diamond plate on. Only 5 days until the Jeep Jamboree and the campers first outing
