nice ute mate,
i have an 04 navara str, and seriously get a suspension lift asap,
i got between 2 and 2.5 inch lift and it handles better then it did before hand even tho its higher, very happy with it, i paid $820 that was replace all shocks all around wind the front torsion bars up, add an extra leaf in the pack and reset them higher,
here are some pictures for you to look at ah

Good choice. They are an excellent all rounder. I have an 05 STR 3inch exhaust, snorkel, dual Hi-clones, 2 inch OME lift, carry boy canopy, TJM winch bar and 265/75 BF's etc etc. Heading off from Melb to Fraser next week. My mate just had his STR fitted with an Iron Man 2 inch lift, bout a grand all up, had it out in the ruts over easter, and it goes very well.

Should be there on the 22nd April for a week. Taking my mates GQ LWB seriously injected Patrol on to the Island ( fueling should be fun $$$$$$$ ). Its got all the gear and should be a bit more fun as I dont have to worry about trashing the family wagon and walking back to Melb. Drop me a PM and I'll leave you my number.

I made up some bodylift spacers at work with aluminium blocks i got from tafe. they were under 2 inches when i got them so i machined em down to 1.7 so i got as much as i could out of it. stupid me thought liftin the tray was guna b a piece of cake..wat a pain in the ass it turned out to be, but after 2 days of effort i finally got it done. lifted the step to.
sorry the pics are a bit big

the spacer

pain in the ass bolt, only way i could get it in was drillin through the tray
The finished look.
i put in a uhf the other week aswell. as you can tell im not the neatest person.

as far as i know it is illegal to do any sort of bodylift on a vehicle with airbags-sorry to rain on your parade, suspension lift is ok,i wanted to lift mine and was told i would'nt be covered by insurance and the vehicle would be illegal

but what effect does the hieght of the tray have on airbags?...i can understand how having the front lifted would affect them.. ive rung a couple of places bout it, see what they say before i take it out

Well I spose if ur only doing the tray, it might technically be OK (but don't quote me on that )
But then, with only the back done - it looks a bit silly
Just get a 2" susp lift put on it - an Old Man Emu kit will make it ride a whole heap better and it'll look sweet as well - plus it's 100% legal

yeah all ive done is the tray, i rekn it looks better with the tray higher cause now the sports bar is higher then the cabin. yeah im going to get the suspension and all that, its just i could do the lift for free so while ive got no money seemed the better option
