Quick update.

The spring on my old uhf aerial cracked, needed replacing, so bought a GME Ae4705 yesterday, fitted it up today, looks good.

I'm looking at getting a Stratos Commercial seat, which includes lifting it for more leg room, so i've gone off the roof console idea, as i will most likely hit my head.

So saving for that and new tray and canvas canopy now.

Default New Uhf Bracket

Another small job i completed last weekend. Got sick of the Uhf Microphone sitting beside the Gearstick, so decided to do up a bracket for the Microphone.

Bought this bracket, about 10 bucks from a local radio place.

Drilled holes and pop riveted (seen in last photo) the Microphone Holder in place here.

Then inserted it between the Uhf and the Mounting bracket for the Uhf and Stereo.

Had to track down a longer screw, as the original was to short with the Mic Bracket and a second piece of Rubber in there.

Finished Product.

Doesn't get in the way with the Gearstick either.

Cheers Everyone.

cruiser.man - Yeah it has 2 inch blocks under it. Due to the under tray frame work, those are needed to fit the spare in. The new tray will have flat steel under the floor at the back there instead.

corhijas - It was $179. Pays to shop around, one other place i rang in town was nearly $50 dearer.

Hi Bushbloke

I had the same dilema about the handpiece for the radio... I had jjust fitted the spotties so had a spare factory switch blank...

It now just clips into the switch hole and can be taken out later like your and none the wiser

The utes coming along nicely

cheers Utemad

Thanks Ute Mad. Yeah, took it for its first off road run on weekend, only a short sedate one, but i loved it.

Heart was pumping for first hill though, that soon stopped though.
