Default KillaMav's SWB Maverick - Overdue Update

I have been on this forum for quite some time now but have never put my mav in here as it was nothing special. I bought it stock back in feburary this year and have been slowly saving money for upgrades and modifications.

Here are some photo's of it when I bought it - minus the XGT'S.

I have spent the last two months researching suspension and tyres and I have ended up getting 3" Dobinson lift with 4" dobbinson Shocks. This combination works well and at this point the coils do not fall out. I also fitted 33"x12.5"xR15" Maxxis bighorns on 15"x8" Black King rims in a landcruiser offset.

I had had some problems with the tyres rubbing on the flares and here are some photos of the small ramp I found to find where it is rubbing. I know the mav has more travel but its rubbing too much at the moment.

Mate looking good! when do you give the new suspension a run?
When i had just 3 inch lift and 33's mine never rubbed. but i didnt have the flares. id look into changing the flares to a flatter based design. that will get rid of the scrubbing tyres issue.

I'll post some pictures latter but I have cut the bottom 15cm of the rear flares off. ei the rear flares are cut at the back and front and the mud flaps had to go too. the rear just doesn't hit the actual metal anywhere. the front is not and issue but it becomes very close on a ramp while turning and I have radius arm spacers to put in today.

I have had it up that little ramp all week trying to cut everything off to stop rubbing but on Sunday its having its first real test run at glasshouse.

Nice mate, looks the goods, they sure will help in the slippery stuff.
Mudflaps have to cover half the tyre and not be more than 300mm off the ground.

The test run when well with one problem. The rear couldn't handle the weight. So today I installed 30mm coil spacers to the rear and it has fixed it. I will load pic later but my computer broke and I'm on the friends computer.

Thanks about the mudflaps. I will buy some rubber this weekend.

Yep coupler tec, heavy duty in a SWB. Should work great.

The p7 course was done on a property outside of childers and theres 15km of tracks. The instructor person is on this forum called chopper. Very intelligent bloke. Have you done a course??
