New suspension in update
I thought i should tell yas about my few small mods on my 99 Patrol ST 4.5.
Unfortunately i didn't get any pics when i first bought it, but it had 16 x 8 speedy alloys on it with bridgestone 255/65/16 dueler HT tyres on it, this is a picture i took when i tried to sell em on ebay 6 months ago.
I have had the car for about nine or ten months now and i don't think it had ever been off road till i got it. She had 127000 k's on her and in near mint condition, I traded my 1987 dual cab 308 v8 hilux for it and haven't looked back apart from having to start with the modifications again, $$$.
Anyway I first of all found some Nissan alloys with 315/75/16 Cooper stt's on em secondhand with about 2000 k's on them for a good price so snapped them up and put them on the old girl.
Then not long after that decided on a 2 1/2 inch set of Lovells coils, 35mm gas shocks, adjustable panhard rods, offset caster bushes and a RTC steering damper.
before the lift the measurements from the bottom of the rim to the bottom of the wheelarch were, 753mm RR, 780mm LR, 760mm RF, 772mm LF, so they were all over the place. Now it is 840mm RR, 830mm LR, 853mm RF and 850mm LF. I reckon i might put some spacers in the back as it seems to be sitting a bit lower than the front at the moment. This was just before the lift,
And just after,
Some other things done so far is a set of pacemaker headers, free flowing exhaust, a unifilter air filter element, GME TX3400 UHF, IPF Combination beam spotties (on it when i got it), an alarm and immobiliser with motion detection, and window tint.
I don't have any action shots as yet but hope to get some soon. I have a few other mods up my sleeve once they are approved by the minister for finance, they include a Safari snorkel, Adjustable draglink and a few other goodies underneath, New steel bullbar with a winch (hopefully), rear bar with wheel carrier, some rear spot lights (the reverse light is crap on this model), an onboard compressor, some rear storage, maybe a front air locker and no doubt i will think of more as time goes on. This will be a long term project so nothing is going to happen in a hurry, just as funds and time allow.
Any comments as i go are welcomed i will post more as i go.
Cheers, Dan.

Thanks Fellas, It's good to see a few people from Tas on here, should be more of it i reckon.
I don't reckon she will stay shiny for long either REDROCKET i reckon a few tears will be shed the first few scratches i put on it, but thats what it's for after all. There's a few more small things I want to do yet before i take her out for a proper go in the bush, I learnt from wheelin the old Hilux that it's good to be prepared, and have everything spot on, it sure saves on head aches. Dan.

For some reason if you are reading the first few posts in my thread, the end of all my sentences have been cut off. If you view it with the blue screen it is all good again. Is this just on my computer?

New spare tyre.
I found myself a brand new 315/75/16 Cooper ST tyre for a spare. It is a bit dirty and been kickin around for a while, so my old mate Mr Bob Jane knocked a hundred bucks off it for me. It is being fitted tomorrow. I know it's a different tread pattern to a STT but will do for a spare (better than the 265 road tyre on the spare at the moment) So i guess my next job will be to make a bracket to space and lift the wheel carrier on the back door. I will post pics once done.
Regards, Dan.

Cam
sorrry, i mean it only rubs when the door is fully open and it also just hits the right tail lamp, but doenst put any pressure on it!

Thanks for the info Stoner i will get it home and see what happens tonight, I think my tyres are actually only 34.6" being 315/75/16 so might have enough clearance once i space it out.
Dan.

I tried my spare wheel for size on the back door last night and it doesn't go anywhere close to fitting, so i will have a look over the weekend and come up with a design for a decent bracket (over quite a few beers i reckon) Then get the welder out. I am a bit worried about the weight of it hanging of the door, so will see what i can think of thats not too difficult to build to keep the weight off the door a bit.

i asked the saem question a while back about the weight and was lead to believe that it should be ok! aslong as you dont swing offit when open .
Im looking at making a rear bar 4 mine anyway just because i dont want the wight on the door. who knows after tim ethe extra weight may be doing harm!
also are you running the standard offset rim with your spare! i have toyota offset-about 25mm and that may be also why my tire fits on rear door with only 3x35 rhs.
