Default Cammo's 80 EFI 5Ltr - UP AND RUNNING!!

Well where do you start, I've got a 1995, FZJ 80R GXL WAGON with a 1FZ-FE petrol engine, never been on gas and has done 225,000 kms,
Fitted a cargo barrier, dual batteries and it had a 2" lift when I got it,
At the momment it's got the 305/70R16 Claws of my 40 on it and a Part time 4wd kit from Marks Adaptors.
Has been good for the last 3 years but found a VR EFI 5Ltr engine, spent some more money at Marks 4wd for the "kit" and I am about to start ripping the old engine out and putting the 5ltr in. I don't know how long it will take or how much it will cost me! But who does't love the sound of a V8 in a cruiser!
Will keep you posted as I go.

Cheers Cammo

Good stuff I will watch this one, mines going in a 4runner but I imagine it will fit easier in the cruiser.

Don't forget regular photo updates

And good luck.

The kit I got through work,
($970)-Bellhousing adaptor, Stepped flywheel, ($300)-engine mounts and brackets, ($405)-interface wiring and ($230)-speed sensor wiring, ($140)-Tacho interface,($50)-Diagnostic test light ($85)-under bonnet bracket kit
MARKS TOTAL $2180
ENGINE $1000
H/D CLUTCH $850

And will have to make up hoses for Power steering, A/C and air intake
Reprogram ECU, New Spark plugs leads and filters,
Custom 2 1/2' exhaust with cat convertors,
plus all the unexpected costs that WILL come up!

Holly crap! why did you make me add that up!

And I will be running the 80 series 5 speed manual

Nice Work pickup up the 304 for that price mate!

Why you going for the VN - VP loom comp and loom instead of the VR ? I know the vn - vp had the same motors right up to the VS, is the VN - VP loom have less hassles ?

Dan

Yer the VN-VP loom and comp is easier to play with, VR on had body control module and mine is also a auto loom, would prefer not to spend time cutting the auto bits out, when the VN is sort of plug & play!

marks can reprogram the comp to ignore the fact it is not connected to a body module.

Not cheap though.

cheers

They reprogram them to suit all holden V8 models, 155kw - 195kw, The engine would run & could be driven but not the ideal set up , I would prefer to spend a bit more and get the ECU reprogramed to suit the mods i've made and the 91 octane fuel that will be used 95% of the time.

you could try calaisturbo.com.au or justcommodores.com.au, if you post an add in there i'm sure there would be someone with a loom and comp to suit your needs.

cheers

Did you work for Croydon Brake & Clutch?
Thats what I bought then changed it back to Croydon 4WD Specialists after the name had a 10 year break!

Any way back to the 80, things got put on hold due to work and the 4wd Show, but have had some spare time and have done a bit more.,
