4WD Action 119 ON SALE NOW Issue 119 of Australian 4WD Action is crammed full of some serious 4WD budget tips and ideas, more custom 4WD’s, touring around the country and a number of articles focussed on how to spend less, drive more, and enjoy the lifestyle we all love without damaging the wallet too much. First off the tee is a Rangie that cost $11,000 to build and get offroad. Mark scored his ’82 Range Rover in March ’05, and hasn’t looked back since, investing in gear for his fourby after scouting the 4WD Action forum and finding some great bargains on online auction websites. Continuing on from the Rangie feature, Bryan catches up with Bruce Davis from Davis Performance Landys to work out the best way to get more sustainable fuel consumption and greater economy from your Range Rover. Shaun gets his hands dirty once again with his Sierra by installing some much needed gauges to monitor the oil pressure, battery voltage and water level in the radiator. Our “Long Trip in a Shorty” saga continues with Graham Cahill heading up the WA coast to Broome and the incredible Kimberley coast. Their’s some stunning images to accompany this article, and we know you’ll be as keen as we are to get to this beautiful destination and see what all of the hype is about. Here at 4WD Action we’re just like you and can’t get enough of our custom fourbies, and have some highly modified machines for you to get your hands on this issue. Brendan Batty gets up close and personal with an ‘05 Extra Cab Hilux that’s seen its fair share of custom action, with mods ranging from an 80 Series front diff, custom length 12in-lifted coils, adjustable shocks all round, 16x8in wheels and 315/75 tyres to boot.

Australia’s the land of endless beaches, and don’t all the tourists know it! We 4WDers have an ace up our sleeves when it comes to beating the holiday crowds, and that’s to air down the tyres, put it in 4WD and blast up the beach. This issue, join our resident 4WD guru Roothy, as he takes you on a trip to North Stradbroke Island. Along the way, he’ll be running through all the knowledge you’ll need to leave the blacktop behind and cruise the beaches, and ensure you don’t end up creating the coast’s newest artificial reef. Also in this month’s show, I head off-road to show how to improve your vehicle’s suspension system, and what benefits an aftermarket kit has over stock gear. Then, join Shaun as he gives a rundown on trackside maintenance, and basic things you can do to get your vehicle running if something goes wrong off-road. And of course, we’ve got Roothy to whip up another bush cooking surprise, because we know there are a lot of hungry 4WDers out there! Australian 4WD Action – it’s like being out in the bush, without ever leaving your lounge room. You can see all this and more on Issue 119’s DVD, out now at your local newsagent. |
